India, Sept. 8 -- The Government of India has announced a series of Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms aimed at empowering the youth, promoting healthier lifestyles, and improving overall ease of living. The measures align with initiatives such as the Fit India Movement and efforts to strengthen youth-focused infrastructure and mobility.
A key reform is the reduction of GST on gyms and fitness centres from 18% to 5%, making quality fitness facilities more affordable and encouraging wider participation in preventive healthcare and fitness activities. Similarly, the cut in GST on bicycles and parts from 12% to 5% will promote eco-friendly transport and make cycling more accessible to students, professionals, and fitness enthusiasts.
