India, March 28 -- The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme with a budget allocation of ?22,919 crore. The initiative aims to make India self-reliant in the electronics supply chain by fostering a robust component ecosystem through large-scale investments from both global and domestic players.

The scheme is designed to enhance domestic value addition (DVA), build technological capabilities, and integrate Indian companies into global value chains (GVCs).
