India, Dec. 9 -- The Government of India is progressing steadily on the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), which has a total outlay of Rs 19,744 crore and aims to position India as a global hub for green hydrogen production, utilization and export.

As of November 2025, the mission has achieved the following milestones:

Green Hydrogen Production: 18 companies awarded a cumulative production capacity of 8.62 lakh tonnes per annum.

Electrolyser Manufacturing: 15 companies allotted a total manufacturing capacity of 3,000 MW per annum.

Procurement for Refineries: 2 companies awarded procurement capacity of 20,000 tonnes per annum.

Pilot initiatives: Projects sanctioned in steel, shipping and transport sectors.
