India, Aug. 22 -- The government has approved an additional Rs 6,982 crore as capex support for BSNL in 2025, Parliament was informed on Thursday.

This support comes on top of the Rs 3.22 lakh crore assistance already extended to the state-run telecom operator in multiple tranches, including the ?69,000 crore revival package in 2019, Rs 1.64 lakh crore in 2022, and the allocation of 4G and 5G spectrum worth ?89,000 crore in 2023.

Minister of State for Telecom Pemmasani Chandrasekhar said the latest allocation will aid BSNL in expanding its 4G rollout across the country.
