India, Dec. 4 -- The government has approved 25 lakh more LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) for FY 2025–26 to clear pending applications and move towards universal LPG access. As of 1 November 2025, India had 10.33 crore PMUY beneficiaries.

To simplify access, eligibility has been revised to adult women from poor households based on a simple Deprivation Declaration.

To support affordability, the government will continue providing a ?300 per cylinder subsidy (for up to 9 refills annually) for 14.2 kg cylinders, with proportional support for 5 kg cylinders.
