India, Sept. 9 -- Gold prices soared on Tuesday, breaching the Rs 1.10 lakh level for the first time, as global cues pushed the precious metal to fresh highs amid a weaker US dollar following soft labour market data.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures for December delivery rose Rs 458, or 0.41%, to a lifetime high of Rs 1,10,047 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, the actively traded October contract climbed Rs 482, or 0.44%, to touch a new peak of Rs 1,09,000 per 10 grams.
