India, Aug. 11 -- Gold prices climbed Rs 1,098 to Rs 1,00,700 per 10 grams in futures trade on Monday as speculators built fresh positions amid robust spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), October delivery contracts were up by Rs 1,098, or 1.08%, at Rs 1,00,700 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 15,443 lots.

In global markets, however, Comex gold futures for December delivery slipped 0.94% to USD 3,365.94 per ounce in New York.
