India, Aug. 6 -- Gold prices climbed Rs 236 to Rs 1,01,102 per 10 grams in futures trade on Wednesday, as speculators built fresh positions amid firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), October delivery contracts rose by 0.23% or Rs 236, with a trading volume of 15,059 lots.

However, in the international market, COMEX gold futures for December delivery slipped 0.23% to USD 3,372.73 per ounce in New York.
