India, Jan. 1 -- GAIL Gas Ltd on Thursday announced a Rs 1 cut in the prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) supplied to households for cooking, following the rationalisation of pipeline tariffs.

The move comes a day after Indraprastha Gas Ltd, India's largest city gas retailer, reduced domestic PNG prices in Delhi and NCR towns by Rs 0.70 per standard cubic metre.

Earlier, Think Gas had also lowered CNG prices by Rs 2.50 per kg and cut domestic PNG rates by up to Rs 5 per standard cubic metre (scm), reflecting a broader trend of price reductions across city gas distributors.
