India, July 21 -- The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) registered a record net addition of 20.06 lakh members in May 2025, including 9.42 lakh new employees, according to payroll data released on Monday.
This marks a 4.79% increase over April 2025 and a 2.84% rise year-on-year, making it the highest monthly addition since EPFO began tracking payroll data in April 2018, the Labour Ministry stated.
Commenting on the milestone, Union Labour & Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the record addition reflects the growing strength of India's formal employment sector.
