India, April 15 -- Datamatics Global Services Ltd has implemented Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) and mobile ticketing systems for Phase 1 of Mumbai Metro Lines 2B and 9, enhancing commuter convenience with faster entry, exit, and seamless fare payments.

The system supports both QR-based tickets and common mobility cards, enabling efficient and contactless travel. The newly operational phase was inaugurated on April 8, 2026, by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Datamatics has previously delivered similar AFC solutions for Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7 and has executed over 30 such projects globally across major cities, as well as multiple metro and transit systems in India.
