India, Sept. 3 -- Crude oil prices edged lower by Rs 18 to Rs 5,768 per barrel on Wednesday, tracking weak global cues as investors stayed cautious ahead of the OPEC+ meeting later this week and awaited U.S. inventory data.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, September crude oil contracts fell 0.31 per cent to Rs 5,768 per barrel, with a business turnover of 11,497 lots.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude slipped 0.23 per cent to USD 65.44 per barrel, while Brent crude was down 0.22 per cent at USD 68.99 a barrel.
