India, Jan. 7 -- Crude oil prices declined sharply in futures trade on Wednesday, tracking weak global trends amid easing supply concerns.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), crude oil futures for January delivery fell by Rs 110, or 2.11 per cent, to Rs 5,100 per barrel, with a business turnover of 16,723 lots.

The February contract also moved lower, shedding Rs 94, or 1.8 per cent, to Rs 5,125 per barrel, with trading volume of 5,076 lots.

Market participants attributed the decline to softer global crude prices as concerns over supply disruptions eased.
