India, Aug. 22 -- Crude oil futures advanced Rs 16 to Rs 5,579 per barrel on Friday as traders increased positions amid strong spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil contracts for September delivery gained 0.29% to Rs 5,579 per barrel with a turnover of 13,135 lots.
Analysts said higher bets by participants supported crude oil prices in futures trade.
