India, Nov. 20 -- Crude oil prices climbed Rs 50 to Rs 5,308 per barrel in Thursday's futures trade as participants increased their positions amid firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, December crude oil contracts were up Rs 50, or 0.95%, at Rs 5,308 per barrel, with a trading volume of 14,611 lots.

Analysts attributed the gains to higher betting by market participants.
