India, Jan. 2 -- Crude oil futures traded lower on Friday, tracking weak global trends as concerns over oversupply weighed on prices.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), crude oil futures for January delivery slipped by Rs 23, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 5,200 per barrel, with a trading volume of 18,114 lots.

The February contract also declined, falling Rs 22, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 5,210 per barrel, with a turnover of 2,222 lots.

Market participants remained cautious amid persistent global supply concerns, which continued to cap any recovery in crude prices.
