India, Jan. 1 -- Copper futures edged higher on Thursday, gaining Rs 5.10 to trade at Rs 1,290.60 per kg, supported by increased demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for January delivery rose by Rs 5.10, or 0.4 per cent, to Rs 1,290.60 per kilogram, with a business turnover of 13,271 lots.
Analysts said the uptick in copper prices was driven by higher bets from market participants amid improved spot demand.
