India, Sept. 12 -- Copper prices edged higher in the domestic futures market on Friday, supported by increased spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for October delivery gained Rs 4.90 or 0.53 per cent to trade at Rs 923 per kilogram, with a business turnover of 2,303 lots.

Market analysts attributed the uptick in prices to higher buying activity and stronger bets by participants in anticipation of improved demand.
