India, Aug. 7 -- Copper prices gained 0.31% to Rs 890.70 per kilogram on Thursday, supported by increased demand in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for September delivery rose by Rs 2.75 or 0.31% to Rs 890.70 per kg, with a trading volume of 1,425 lots.

Analysts said the uptrend was driven by higher interest from participants, who increased their positions amid firm spot demand.
