India, Sept. 9 -- The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the proposed acquisition of Dana Incorporated's off-highway business (Dana OH) by Allison Transmission Holdings, Inc.

Allison, headquartered in Indianapolis, USA, designs and manufactures vehicle propulsion solutions, transmissions, and electrified propulsion systems. While the bulk of its products are used in on-highway commercial vehicles, a smaller share caters to off-highway applications such as construction, forestry, mining, agriculture, and industrial vehicles. The company has a presence in over 150 countries, including India, where it operates through its subsidiary Allison Transmission India Pvt. Ltd.
