India, Nov. 26 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved two major railway multitracking projects worth approximately ?2,781 crore. The projects include:

Devbhumi Dwarka (Okha)–Kanalus Doubling (141 km)

Badlapur–Karjat 3rd and 4th lines (32 km)

Together, these projects will expand the Indian Railways network by 224 km, improving mobility, operational efficiency, and service reliability.

Developed under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, the projects aim to boost multimodal connectivity, ease congestion, and support seamless movement of passengers and freight. They will benefit 4 districts across Maharashtra and Gujarat, enhancing connectivity for around 585 vill...
