India, May 7 -- The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the expansion of academic and infrastructure capacity—Phase-B construction—at five Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established after 2014 in Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Palakkad (Kerala), Bhilai (Chhattisgarh), Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir), and Dharwad (Karnataka).
With an outlay of ?11,828.79 crore over four years (2025–26 to 2028–29), the project will significantly enhance the education and research capabilities of these institutes.
