India, June 26 -- The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved Phase-2 of the Pune Metro Rail Project, extending the existing Vanaz–Ramwadi corridor (Phase-1). The new extension includes two elevated corridors—Vanaz to Chandani Chowk (Corridor 2A) and Ramwadi to Wagholi/Vitthalwadi (Corridor 2B)—spanning a total of 12.75 km with 13 stations. These corridors will connect rapidly growing areas such as Chandani Chowk, Bavdhan, Kothrud, Kharadi, and Wagholi. The project is expected to be completed within four years.
