India, Aug. 14 -- BSNL has launched its nationwide, network-side Anti-Spam and Anti-Smishing service for mobile customers — no apps to download, no settings to configure. Suspicious or phishing URLs in SMS are detected in real time and blocked at the network edge, ensuring harmful links never reach BSNL users. Genuine OTPs, banking alerts, and government messages continue to be delivered as per TRAI's DLT/UCC guidelines. The solution, previewed at India Mobile Congress 2024, is now being deployed across BSNL circles.

Developed in partnership with leading Indian cloud communications provider Tanla, the system leverages AI/ML, Natural Language Processing (NLP), reputation intelligence, and link expansion to analyse messages instantly. ...
