India, March 25 -- The Ministry of Ayush, in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), has announced a joint clinical study to evaluate Ayurveda as an adjunct therapy for tuberculosis treatment.

The study aims to assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of an Ayurveda-based regimen alongside standard anti-tuberculosis treatment (ATT), with a focus on improving recovery, nutrition, and overall quality of life for patients.

This multi-centre, 24-month study will be conducted across leading institutions including AIIMS, JIPMER, and NEIGRIHMS. It also aligns with India's broader push towards integrating traditional and modern medicine through evidence-based research.
