India, June 18 -- Aluminium prices edged higher by 85 paise to Rs 247.90 per kilogram in Wednesday's futures trade, as traders built fresh positions amid a firm trend in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), aluminium for July delivery rose by 0.34% to Rs 247.90 per kg, with 2,246 lots traded.

Analysts attributed the price rise to renewed buying by participants, driven by steady demand from consuming industries.
