India, Dec. 16 -- Aluminium prices on Tuesday rose by 70 paise to Rs 283.70 per kg in futures trade as speculators built fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), aluminium contracts for January delivery advanced 70 paise, or 0.25%, to trade at Rs 283.70 per kg, with volumes of 1,382 lots.

Analysts said the uptick was supported by fresh buying from traders, backed by demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
