India, July 30 -- Aluminium prices edged up by 35 paise to Rs 253.75 per kilogram on Wednesday in futures trading, as speculators created fresh positions amid a firm trend in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), aluminium contracts for August delivery rose by 35 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 253.75 per kilogram, with a volume of 4,575 lots.

Analysts attributed the price rise to renewed buying interest driven by steady demand from consuming industries.
