India, Dec. 23 -- Aluminium prices in futures trade moved up on Tuesday, rising 55 paise to Rs 286.65 per kg, as speculators built fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), aluminium contracts for January delivery gained 55 paise, or 0.19 per cent, to trade at ?286.65 per kg, with volumes of 3,156 lots.

Market analysts said the build-up of fresh positions, supported by steady demand from consuming industries, helped aluminium prices remain firm in the futures market.
