Pakistan, Oct. 13 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised the Gaza ceasefire as a hopeful sign for peace worldwide. He said that success in one region could inspire efforts to end conflicts elsewhere, including Ukraine. Zelensky expressed optimism that global leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, can work toward peace in his country.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, the conflict has caused thousands of deaths and displaced millions. Despite multiple talks and a summit between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, no major progress toward peace has been made. Russia demands Ukraine's surrender in exchange for peace, which Kyiv rejects.
