Pakistan, June 30 -- President Asif Ali Zardari has officially approved the Finance Bill for the fiscal year 2025-26. The new financial laws will come into effect from midnight today. This marks the final step in Pakistan's budget approval process for the upcoming fiscal year.
Earlier, on June 26, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a cabinet meeting where the federal cabinet approved the Finance Bill. This followed several discussions and reviews within the government to finalize the financial plan.
Following the cabinet's approval, the National Assembly also passed the federal budget for 2025-26 by majority vote. All cut motions presented by the opposition were rejected during the session. The budget now has full legal backing.
