Social media giant X has raised concerns over India's online takedown platform, warning that a recent Karnataka High Court ruling could jeopardize freedom of expression for millions of users. The company said the portal enables police to issue content removal orders without judicial oversight, creating a risk of arbitrary censorship.

The platform, named Sahyog, which translates to "cooperate" in Hindi, is designed to automate government notices to social media intermediaries like X and Facebook. Authorities claim it helps maintain a safe online space by quickly removing illegal content, protecting citizens from harmful material.
