Pakistan, July 5 -- The World Bank has approved an additional $55 million in financing to support Pakistan's power sector reforms, specifically targeting Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) and Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO). The funding is part of the Electricity Distribution Efficiency Improvement Project (EDEIP), designed to modernize outdated systems and enhance the operational and financial performance of these two underperforming power distribution companies.
