Pakistan, June 25 -- The World Bank has approved $194 million for two major development projects in Balochistan, focusing on improving education and strengthening water security across the province. These projects aim to reduce poverty, boost resilience, and enhance basic services in both urban and rural communities.
The GRADES-Balochistan project, with $100 million in funding, targets learning poverty by improving access to quality early childhood and primary education. It plans to benefit 250,000 students through new classrooms, better teaching resources, and increased school capacity via double shifts and public-private partnerships. Special attention will be given to literacy, numeracy, and school readiness.
