Pakistan, July 6 -- In a significant step towards community empowerment, women-led Village Organizations (VOs) in Union Council Akbarpur, District Sukkur, have federated to form a Local Support Organization (LSO). The LSO was established with the support of the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) under the Peoples Poverty Reduction Program (PPRP), Government of Sindh.
A total of 20 Village Organizations from various villages of the Union Council actively participated in the process of forming the LSO. Through a democratic process, five key office bearers were elected by the member VOs representatives.
