Pakistan, June 17 -- Vaccine refusals in Karachi are increasing at an alarming rate. During the May anti-polio campaign, over 37,000 parents refused to vaccinate their children. This growing resistance is becoming a serious hurdle for the country's efforts to eliminate polio.

The Emergency Operation Center (EOC) shared detailed data about the refusals. The highest number came from Karachi East, where 9,433 parents rejected polio drops. Central district followed with 7,141 refusals, and Keamari reported 7,011 cases of non-cooperation from parents.
