Pakistan, June 22 -- WASHINGTON - The United States has issued a strong travel advisory urging American citizens, especially women, to exercise increased caution when visiting India, citing a surge in violent crimes and growing terror risks.

According to the updated advisory, rape is one of the fastest-growing crimes in India, with incidents reported in tourist areas and other public spaces. Women travellers are strongly advised not to travel alone due to the rising threat of sexual assault.
