Pakistan, Jan. 26 -- Development work under the flagship programme "Maryam Nawaz Ka Sona Punjab" has been formally launched in 51 cities across Punjab, marking a major step towards improving urban infrastructure and civic facilities.

Chairing a special meeting on Sunday, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed that the first phase of the project be completed by June 2026, with a focus on sewerage systems and other essential infrastructure in every city.

The chief minister personally assumed direct monitoring of the Punjab Development Plan to ensure transparency, efficiency and timely completion.
