Pakistan, July 17 -- UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell revealed that more than 17,000 children have been killed and 33,000 injured in the ongoing Gaza conflict. Speaking to the UN Security Council, she said an average of 28 children die daily, equivalent to a whole classroom lost each day for nearly two years.

Russell highlighted the severe hardships faced by Gaza's children, including trauma, hunger, lack of clean water, and interrupted education. She stressed that children are innocent victims, not political actors, and called on the world to recognize its failure to protect them.
