Pakistan, June 14 -- United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has urged both Iran and Israel to stop the rising conflict and avoid further military action. His message came after Israel carried out targeted airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, which led to retaliatory missile attacks from Iran aimed at Tel Aviv.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Guterres said he was deeply concerned about the rapidly worsening situation. He warned that the region cannot afford a wider war. "This is a moment when all parties must show restraint," he wrote.
