Pakistan, May 17 -- Ukrainian authorities have accused Russia of committing a war crime after a deadly drone strike in the northeastern Sumy region, as diplomatic efforts to secure a temporary ceasefire faltered during talks in Turkey.

Ukraine's National Police condemned the attack in a statement posted on Telegram, describing it as "not just another shelling - it is a cynical war crime." Officials shared images of a heavily damaged dark blue passenger van, its roof torn off and windows shattered, as emergency crews continued rescue efforts.

The head of Sumy's regional military administration, Ihor Tkachenko, confirmed that response teams were on the scene and assisting victims.
