Pakistan, May 17 -- UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, has reiterated the British government's commitment to encouraging both Pakistan and India to adhere to the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), an agreement that has long governed the distribution of water from the Indus River system.

In a media briefing, Lammy emphasized that the UK, along with the United States and Gulf nations, is working together to ensure a lasting ceasefire between the two South Asian rivals, focusing on de-escalation and stability in the region.
