But in Pakistan, it is also becoming a serious source of political division. A recent study by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute shows how digital platforms have made our politics more polarised.

The study, titled 'Social Media Impact on Political Polarisation in Pakistan', found that from 2017 to 2025, social media users in Pakistan jumped from 31 million to nearly 67 million. This growth means more people are online, and more voices are heard. It means more misinformation, hate, and political fights are spreading.
