Pakistan, July 29 -- Glaciers on Mount Cilo in southeastern Turkey are disappearing at an alarming rate due to rising global temperatures. Once thick and frozen, the peaks now expose rocky slopes and torrents filled with broken ice. Kemal Ozdemir, a local mountain guide, says the lush waterfalls flowing today show just how fast the ice is melting.

Experts warn that Turkey's second-largest glacier region, located in Hakkari near the Iraqi border, is shrinking faster than expected.
