The clip, posted on his Truth Social account, sparked outrage across the US political spectrum. The White House later blamed the post on a staff error, but Trump defended the claims about election fraud.

The video, about one minute long, briefly depicted the Obamas' faces on monkeys while promoting false claims about Dominion Voting Systems. Democrats called the post "vile" and racist, while some Republicans also condemned it. Trump claimed he did not watch the full video and delegated its posting to staffers.
