Pakistan, Aug. 6 -- Heavy rainfall caused chaos across Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Wednesday, flooding homes and roads in several areas. Low-lying neighborhoods were particularly affected, with water entering homes in Chak Shahzad, Bhara Kahu, New Chatha Bakhtawar, and the PHA Society. Due to the intensity of the downpour, water levels in nearby streams and nullahs rose quickly, alarming residents.
Rescue 1122 teams responded swiftly to emergency calls and reached Chatha Bakhtawar within 12 minutes. They successfully rescued around 40 to 45 individuals who were stranded in waist-deep rainwater near a mosque in street number 5. Their timely action helped avoid any casualties or serious injuries during the incident.
