Pakistan, Sept. 12 -- Tokyo is ready for the Tokyo World Athletics Championships, bringing back fans after the spectator-less Olympics during the Covid-19 pandemic. Posters, billboards, and banners across the city celebrate athletes, while nearly 500,000 tickets have already been sold. Officials said this year's event will showcase more than 2,000 athletes from 200 countries.

At the opening press conference, Japanese athletics chief Yuko Arimori became emotional while recalling the importance of cheering fans. She said sports are not only for athletes but for everyone to enjoy together. Organizers noted that the stadium is sold out on most nights, showing how much excitement has returned to Tokyo.
