Pakistan, June 17 -- Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir's visit to the United States has, expectedly, raised some eyebrows. His arrival in Washington comes just as Israel has launched a series of deadly airstrikes on Iran, Pakistan's immediate neighbour. In such a tense regional situation, this visit becomes even more important, and perhaps, more sensitive.

Though the trip is not officially linked to the US Army's 250th anniversary celebrations, it appears to be a high-level visit focused on strengthening Pakistan-US military cooperation.
