Pakistan, May 20 -- The Intellectual, be it Pakistani or otherwise, is believed to be pro-people working, speaking or arguing for the good of the people which automatically assigns him the status of anti-establishment. As Edward Said says that "The intellectual is an individual endowed with a faculty for representing, embodying, articulating a message, a view, an attitude, philosophy or opinion to, as well as for, a public". But the intellectual of the day is unable to perform his normative duties because of the neoliberalist, totalitarian and postcolonial and postmodern trends. Consequently, he is frustrated and is finding no space to work in and deliver for the benefit of the public.
