Pakistan, Feb. 11 -- LOS ANGELES - Universal Pictures has officially announced a release date for the highly anticipated The Mummy sequel, reuniting franchise favorites Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, sending fans into a frenzy. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 19, 2028.

Fraser returns to the series for the first time in two decades, following Tomb of the Dragon Emperor in 2008. Weisz, who skipped that installment, reprises her role as Evelyn O'Connell for the first time since The Mummy Returns in 2001. The beloved duo will once again portray adventurers Rick and Evelyn O'Connell, bringing nostalgia to longtime fans of the franchise.
